Pancreatitis: New therapy shows promise in mice

The inflammatory disease pancreatitis can be painful and life-threatening on its own, and it can also increase the risk of pancreatic cancer - which is typically lethal.
“Currently there are no effective preventive or treatment strategies for pancreatitis; it's a disease that's been difficult to understand,” says Baoan Ji, M.D., Ph.D ., cancer biologist on Mayo Clinic's Florida campus .
